Wow! It had been a while since I/d seen such a big audience(in truth you can't really see them with the lights down)
and we were only eight women; I had not tried to memorize anything seriously since the seventies in high school so my question was, "Would I freeze and not even recall which song I was supposed to be singing?" Or something like that. But it was OK!
In the video my husband took, I looked a little on the serious side while our conductor spoke briefly, but Sven assured me it's nice for me to be serious once in a while because usually I'm just so silly!

Our songs were:

1) "Prayer of the Children" about kids in the Bosnian War-- but shadowing ourselves to highlight a slide-show of
Haitian children served by Mustard Seed, a group of volunteer doctors who visit Haiti twice a year to treat people in remote villages, pro bono.

Next was 2) "Stand By Me", a reference to the Playing For Change world-wide additive mix you can find on YouTube:

And we ended with 3) a lovely Manhattan Transfer-ish version of "How Do I Love Thee" in E minor.

This was all part of a concert called Vocal Chord Bowl which featured a number of a capella groups from the area.
All ages, except Young of Heart were not present at this one. Great time had by all!

Top photo is some butternut squash soup Sven made me when I recently had bronchitis! Thank you, Sven. You are a very caring and fun husband!

Below are three of my neighbor woman's four dogs(she had to get safety collars
to control them adequately and always walks them in pairs). Mother dog just left the picture; that is Dad and two sons. Bottom half of their front door was glass, allowing this photo; and boy were they barking up a storm:)!

East Coast Vox Meetup in NYC

Well, Purplesque and I had a lovely lunch at Zen Palate at 46th St. and Ninth Avenue and we want to see
if we can maybe initiate a bigger gathering of Voxers in NYC next time. We talked about everything(!) and
then we each had to go on to our next appointments. It was so much fun. I loved meeting her as much as I do
talking to her online. As I told her, back in the early nineties it didn't always work out that way.

Unfortunately I was a bit sick(I hope she did not catch it, too) and she recommended seeing a doctor,
something I feel very inclined to do tomorrow morning(Monday). You know, take anti-biotics or whatever.
But we still had a great time and then I went to my piano lesson and he couldn't tell I was sick(go figure).

Are any other Voxers interested in maybe planning and/or attending a larger NYC gathering?
I would hopefully be well and healthy for such a thing:)
